Canterlot Tour by TwilightFlopple Canterlot Tour by TwilightFlopple
Sometimes to bring in a little extra money I run tours of Canterlot! Here I am in the historic area with a group from Ponyville.

The outfit I'm wearing is based on the really sort of fetishy outfits that used to be worn by the (exclusively female) Disneyland tour guides, complete with the riding crop. The idea of a pony in such an outfit was too bizarre to turn down. You'll see my vest emblazoned with the Canterlot emblem (which I made up).

See the background by itself here: [link]

So that was my weekend. How about yours?

Sounds like a fun job.
Oh, nosey Colgate!
I'm so in love with this background! You immediately get a sense of the organic Old World city layout style with wide boulevards and numerous side streets that wind and turn seemingly at random into alleyways hidden from the sunlight by the tall, stone and plaster walls framing them.

Though I have to wonder what the tourists would think of the riding crop, but I suppose that it's actually rather appropriate, in a somewhat twisted sense. I'll bet there had been more than one occasion where Foxxy was severely tempted to use that crop in a non-fetishized manner to corral some unruly tourists.

Haha, I actually have an authentic Disneyland tour guide riding crop that I acquired because.... yeah, well, it's such a perversely kinky thing in such a public place, alright?

They are also good for smacking around tourists, children, and parasprites!

Oh wow. O_o This is simply magnificent!

It must have taken so long to do the background. All of the little details are perfect. I love how you made the lamp appear to be on by adding the glow around it. The bricks look so real because of all of the shading. The textures you put on the walls are amazing as well. The fountain is a cute touch. The markings carved into the wall are great. I like how you can see the little suns.

The bright and vibrant colors of the ponies compared to the background really make them pop! Their facial expressions are great. I don't know if Colgate was supposed to be looking at your plot or if it was an accident but I see that. XD The shading on the outfit and just the ponies in general in amazing.

You have truly inspired me to start working on my coloring a lot more.

Ha, well, Colgate was drawn before I was positioned in the scene, but I may have noticed it and decided to keep it....

Glad you appreciated all the effort. The whole thing took about four days. The background was half the time, of course, but wasn't so bad once I got the basic lines filled in, but patience was a virtue.

Wow. I loose interest in something if it takes too long. ^^;

Nice! And we can all see that Aqua Fresh is just on the tour for the plot :iconpinkieishappyplz:

And that ponified uniform is inspired - I love the different pairs of socks/hose. Lucky ponies!

Also, consider your Canterlot emblem stolen... er, borrowed, Foxxy!! :D
