Here's something different. Ms. Scratch doesn't really interest me much because most of her art involves the single thing she does for the five seconds she appears in the show - standing there and looking cool. Cool isn't something I can really relate to, and I need to relate to my art to be able to draw. So my gallery is relatively DJ-free.
But I've liked some of the art I've seen lately of Ms. DJ with her goggles off, and liked even more some recent efforts to make the character cute. I decided it'd be interesting to draw her looking embarrassed and cute. Because you can't be cool without confidence. So here she is, goggles free, with fanon-approved red eyes. It was fun to draw a side of her that hasn't been explored much in fan labour...
Octavia came along for the ride, looking silly. So the cool filly loses some confidence and the serious filly gets silly. You can think of this as a shipping image if you like. But whatever it is it's mostly a cute moment between friends.
And oh yeah, the positioning of Scratch's legs here is my favourite bit. It's quite difficult to get poni legs into natural positions once they're no longer on fours; I think she looks quite comfy. It was also great fun to design LP sleeves for Octavia.
