A few nights ago (election night, actually) I was out buying paper for a project I was interested in attempting wherein the white of the paper could imply, using negative space, the white body of a pony (like Rarity... or me!) eventually I became distracted attempting Celestia and Twilight side by side, until I had the idea to integrate Twilight into Celestia's rainbow mane....

I think this one owes something to Saul Bass by way of Mary Blair. I would've liked to attempt this one with stencils and acrylic paints, and after a failure with marker decided to make the attempt with watercolor. The result is satisfactorily sharp, although I would've liked to use my stencil plan to allow the different layers of color to slip slightly out of registration. Perhaps that would've been too Saul Bass, I'm not sure.
