Along with her form and pose, her textures are wonderful and so very soft. The highlights do such a fantastic job of creating depth and making her shine that I have to ask: what do you use to lighten/whiten? For some of it though I can imagine that you simply don't apply as much color, but the glistening off her pink looks applied.
Anyway, I'm sure Rarity's sales will go through the roof once the mares and stallions get a look-see at this.

As for the socks and panties, I'm now convinced that these are purely bedroom clothes. Even though Fluttershy lives in a society where the norm is to not where any clothes on an average day, the socks and panties serve to draw your eye to her legs and rump, thus making them stand out to the viewer. I would dare say that it would far more scandalous if she walked out into public wearing that than if she was wearing nothing at all. That could explain why in some fanons socks are considered rather risque: you put socks on your hooves and legs because you want somepony to notice them.
As for the heart on the sole/frog of the hoof, I can easily imagine a line of custom-made socks where the heart acts a simple reflexology guide. Massage the center of the heart to win the one of your special somepony
